The community spirit of New Apostolic Christians does not stop at national borders—whether it involves sports competitions or social commitment. Two recent events prove this.

Dragon Boat Regatta 2016 in Cape Town
One faith, two nations, 60 teams, and several thousand spectators: that was the Dragon Boat Regatta 2016 in South Africa. The New Apostolic Church Cape hosted this annual event at the end of last month at Cape Town’s historical V&A Waterfront. For the first time ever, there was a German team that joined in the fun—recruited from a group of 50 visitors.
The Apostles and Bishops had their own boat called “The Dream Team”. They battled valiantly, but the competition was tough. After a full day of racing, each team racing three times, it was down to the final four teams and the results were as follows. First place went to Epic Warriors (Elsies River Bishop Area), second place to West Bank Central Dragons (Kuils River Bishop Area), third place to WCBA Marines (West Coast Bishop Area), and fourth place to North Pine Vikings (Kraaifontein Bishop Area). Volunteer sought for a project in Zambia
Working hand in hand is the motto of the charity organizations run by the New Apostolic Church around the world. The European relief organizations cooperate very closely with their local partner organizations in Asia and Africa, and not only when emergency relief is required.
This is reflected in a job advertisement on the website of nak-karitativ. They are looking for a candidate prepared to work as a volunteer in Zambia for six months for the New Apostolic Church Relief Organization (NACRO, formerly Henwood Foundation). The work will focus on the collection of data on project development and results.
The candidate must have a good command of English, enjoy working in an intercultural team, and be open for the culture of the country. The work Zambia is set to begin in September 2016. Applications will be accepted until the end of May.
