Youth outing in Indonesia

Around one hundred young people in Indonesia gathered in Sumber Agung last weekend for a youth event. The weekend’s motto was “Be a winner”. There were a lot of sports and games, a tug-of-war on Onar Beach, quizzes, choir practices, and a divine service on Sunday morning with Apostle Rumantiyo.

The member magazine is published once a quarter and, in addition to an editorial by the Chief Apostle and reports on his travels and divine services, it features information from our congregations around the world and explanations on the Church’s doctrine. community is an official Church magazine, just like African Joy in parts of Africa and Unsere Familie in German-speaking Europe.

Various editorial offices around the world supplement the international version of community, and create additional regional pages. Such an issue has just been uploaded on the website of the New Apostolic Church Southern Germany. It is produced for the West African countries of Benin, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, and Togo. The issue can be downloaded here.

Day of the Youth with Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider in Frankfurt

Spending a Day of the Youth with the Chief Apostle is something that young people from parts of Germany and from Belgium, France and Luxembourg were able to do last Sunday, 18 June 2017 in Frankfurt (Germany). The Chief Apostle celebrated a divine service for the youth at the Fraport Arena and spent the afternoon with the youth. Thousands of ideas submitted for the International Youth Convention

The planning committee of the International Youth Convention 2019 (IYC) had asked for ideas for the IYC—and this is exactly what they got. More than 3,000 potential participants from Europe and other countries submitted their ideas online over the last few weeks. The ideas are now being evaluated and will be incorporated into the programme. The Youth Convention 2019 will take place from 30 May to 2 June.

“Here I am” is the motto of the 2019 Youth Convention. The youth have already demonstrated this by describing their expectations and contributing to the planning process.

Apostle Francis Kamunyu Njuguna has died

One of the first Kenyan Apostles was Francis Kamunyu Njuguna. He was born on 20 April 1954 in Murang’a. Francis Njuguna was 30 when he was baptised, sealed, and ordained a Priest. Already a few years later, on 25 August 1991, Chief Apostle Richard Fehr ordained him as an Apostle in a divine service in Groningen (Netherlands). Apostle Njuguna was retired by Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider on 29 June 2014 during a divine service in Nairobi (Kenya). The Apostle passed away on 10 June 2017. He was 63.

Chief Apostle Schneider writes on the death of Apostle Njuguna: “He contributed immensely to the growth of God’s work in East Africa and will be greatly missed. He leaves behind his wife, Mary Wanjiku Kamunyu, and nine children (four boys and five girls). Our sincere sympathy is especially with his wife and children as well as all the mourners. May our heavenly Father grant them strength and encouragement as they go through this difficult time.”
