Mentoring programme for young Priests

Being a Christian in everyday life is more than just going to church on Sundays. Christians see when their neighbour needs help during the week, they also talk about their faith, and glorify God with music.

Helping people 8,000 kilometres away

After a long voyage, a container full of aid supplies reached Suriname, a country located in the northern part of South America. More than 500,000 people live in this small country bordered by the Atlantic Ocean and situated between French Guiana, Brazil, and Guyana. Clothing and food for babies and toddlers, school supplies, medication, and medical aids have in the meantime been unpacked.

Following a fundraising campaign in August and September, Stichting Corantijn, the aid organization of the New Apostolic Church in the Netherlands, had the container with the donations shipped to Suriname and distributed the aid to various local organizations. Local charities are now distributing the aid, and it is reaching the people who need it. This is shown by the many pictures and emails which the New Apostolic aid organization has published on its website. Charity means helping people, also in other parts of the world.

Mentors and mentees in discussion

For years now, a mentoring programme has brought Priests and Deacons in Austria and in Switzerland together on a regular basis. There have already been seminars this year. The courses are led by Apostle Philipp Burren and District Evangelist Reto Keller. Lectures and group work deepen topics that deal with everything involved in executing a ministry in the Church.

This year, for the first time, the mentors of the District Church of Austria took part. The programme not only offers training in the form of seminars, but also provides continued support and guidance to young Deacons and Priests for a period of one to two years. Experienced ministers, so-called mentors, advice and guide them.

Glorifying God at a birthday party

The Berlin youth choir “Jucobs” is made up of children and young people. The choir was established about ten years ago. And like everywhere else in the world this choir also glorifies God with its concerts and, in the process, delights many listeners. The concert that took place on the occasion of the choir’s tenth anniversary was opened with an exhilarating performance of “Praise God – Glory Hallelujah”.

After more hymns and the musical confession “I’m so happy, Jesus is my salvation”, the choir invited the audience to celebrate its birthday with a huge birthday cake.
