Another year is dawning

Beginning the new year with God—on one’s own or within the family, but also in fellowship with our brothers and sisters. Christians are looking forward to it.

About 150 years ago, Frances R. Havergal wrote the well-known hymn “Another year is dawning”. “Another year of mercies, of faithfulness and grace; another year of gladness before Thy shining face; another year of leaning upon Thy loving breast; another year of trusting, of quiet, happy rest” (verse 2). For many believing people today this is still a guiding principle. Trust in God, hope in His divine support, and an open view of the future.

New Apostolic sermons on Sunday, 3 January will be based on Hebrews 12: 1b–2a: “Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.” This Bible text is the basis for our 2021 motto, which Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider communicated on New Year’s Day: “Christ, our future.”
