A reliable offer: online services

There is a first easing of the lockdown measures. The Church is working on concepts. What is clear now already is that online services will continue until churches can be reopened for worship. Here is a look at the latest developments.

After stay-at-home orders, the closing of public institutions and spaces, and a ban on physical contact, many governments are slowly beginning to phase in a more normal everyday routine. This also concerns church life. In compliance with hygiene and physical distance rules, the Church leaders are currently drawing up guidelines for the celebration of divine services in churches.

The Church leaders also report on the ongoing consultation with other Christian churches and religious communities. The international president of the New Apostolic Church, Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider, adds: “Society is currently in a critical phase. Nevertheless, I am glad that the opportunity to resume divine services is very cautiously and slowly moving back into reach.”

Until divine services can once again take place in our local churches, online services will continue to be streamed. This is confirmed by the responsible District Apostles in their statements. These services can be followed internationally on YouTube, in some countries also on television and radio or by telephone. The divine service offers are supplemented across the world by numerous devotionals, meetings, and virtual music projects.

This week, Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider issued a statement that he will conduct a divine service on Pentecost which will be streamed to a worldwide audience. The service will be broadcast on the YouTube channels of the New Apostolic Church.
