Farewell with candlelight and songs (Colombia)
“Joy in Christ” was the motto of a youth convention in South America. Some 150 young people from the districts of Bogota, Cali, Neiva, Pereira, and Medellin came together in Medellín. The city has been nicknamed “city of eternal spring” for its many flowers. The youth met on a Saturday with the Apostles Félix Díaz of Venezuela and John Fendt of the USA for workshops, recreational activities, and a divine service. The two Apostles and Bishop Rodriguez had to leave very early on Sunday morning already. In the wee hours of the morning, the youth lit candles and sang some song to say farewell.
Nocturnal question time with the District Apostle (South Korea)
“Understanding and accepting divine recommendations: this is how we plan our lives with Jesus Christ” was the motto of the two-day youth convention in Daejeon in South Korea. The youth came together for a divine service and workshops. On Saturday night the youth asked their host, District Apostle Urs Hebeisen, many questions. He looks back with excitement, “The number of questions shows that the new generation of New Apostolic Christians is very serious about their faith and very interested in theological content.”
Ordinations in a youth service (Bolivia)
District Apostle Raúl Montes de Oca ordained a Priest and seven Deacons in a youth service. Some of the 150 youth had a drive of up to 20 hours from their home districts to Santa Cruz de la Sierra, where the Bolivian Day of the Youth was taking place. The participants made costumes from newspapers, staged plays, participated in sports, and listened to Jaramillo in the evening, an older brother, who told them about the beginnings of the church in Bolivia.
Married three times sixty years (Canada)
Being able to celebrate one’s sixtieth wedding anniversary is something very special. In the London Cambodian congregation in Canada in fact, three couples were celebrating this rare feast together. Together they stepped up to the altar to receive God’s blessing through their Bishop. After the divine service, the couples celebrated with their families and friends and had pictures taken.
