nac.today 2.0 is online. The new website went live this morning. It has been completely revamped in terms of design, functionality, and technology. Join us on a tour of what all the news portal of the New Apostolic Church International has to offer.
“Many voices, united in faith.” This is the slogan of the welcome banner on the homepage. nac.today has become more versatile and accessible than ever before beginning with the photo mosaic at the top of the front page.
Hundreds of pictures give a glimpse into the exciting world of the New Apostolic faith. Hundreds? Absolutely! Because the photos change every time you visit the website.
The menu bar takes you where you want to go. Categories can be accessed directly at the click of a button: reports from across the world, on the apostolate, the liturgical year, the organisation as such, and faith in theory and practice. A drop-down menu reveals fifty categories that list all corresponding articles. And if you want to be even more specific, you can search the 3,500 or so articles using new search engines.
You should keep an eye on the log-in button. It allows you to personalise the website and add additional functions. The crescent moon allows you to adjust your preferences and switch between light and dark mode.
The block after the blue welcome banner contains the previews of the seven most recent articles, including the date, section, and categories. The full article is just a click away. Here you can print out the text, share it on social networks, or have it read to you.
Additional batches of seven articles each with the next most recent article can also be found on the website. There is also a quote of the day that changes every 24 hours, a block with the latest article recommendations from the editorial team, and much more.
Functions that make nac.today even easier to navigate are reserved exclusively for registered and logged-in users. Directly below the quote of the day, for example, you will find personal reading recommendations based on previous reading behaviour. Immediately afterwards, you will see a list of the articles you have recently viewed—to either continue reading or retrieve.
Registered users will also see an overview of all nac.today series: a reference work consisting of dozens of articles and videos that deepen knowledge of our New Apostolic doctrine or the way we practise our faith. Further exclusive functions are planned, and some are already in the works.
Videos are also accessible in various ways: the latest clips on the homepage and the complete archive on a separate page.
There is also a brand new audio offer: you can discover music from across the New Apostolic world via the streaming service Spotify. Anyone who is logged in there, can listen to the complete playlists. Everyone else will at least get an idea of the songs in a thirty-second audio sample.
A lot has also happened under the hood. The highlight is the use of a content delivery network. This means that nac.today has branches, so to speak, on every continent and can therefore be loaded faster worldwide.
These are just a few examples of the new website. There is more to discover. The editorial team hopes you enjoy it.
