There is always something new happening. Not a single day goes by without new things going on somewhere in the world. And New Apostolic congregations are no exception. Here is a small extract.
Bolivia: sources of blessing
During his first visit to Bolivia in 2019, District Apostle Raúl Montes de Oca visited the capital of La Paz to inform himself about the ongoing preparations for the upcoming visit of the Chief Apostle in August this year. He also asked Bishop Freddy Mercado to continue his work for the Church as a District Elder from now on. In view of the changes in our concept of ministry, which will come into effect on Pentecost 2019, there will also be an adaptation to the ministerial hierarchy, the District Apostle said. That is why Bishop Mercado has voluntarily agreed to be active as a District Elder in future.
Ghana: in good times and in bad times
“We can feel the air blowing, but we cannot see it,” said the responsible Apostle Samuel Oppong-Brenya from Ghana. It is similar with the presence of God. During his visit to the congregation of Apatanga, a suburb of Bolgatanga, the capital of the Upper East Region, he introduced Apostle Samuel Ayidana Atinga, who was recently ordained into the Apostle ministry. Apatanga is his home congregation. Following the divine service, Apostle Oppong-Brenya visited the family of the new Apostle to express his sympathy on the death of Apostle Atinga’s brother, who had passed away only a few days before.
Nigeria: new Apostle introduced
The newly ordained Apostle Oscar Kabanga Nwanza from Nigeria was also introduced in his new district. The responsible Apostle, Geoffrey Nwogu, visited the congregations of Majidun in Lagos and Akure in Ondo State to do so. In the two divine services, to which the district leaders from the West Apostle Area were also invited, the congregations were able to welcome.their new Apostle.
Apostle Nwanza was ordained into the priestly ministry in 1993. On 27 January 2019 he was ordained as an Apostle by Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider.
IYC 2019: being proud
Being proud of the Church … This is the objective that the International Youth Convention 2019 will achieve, District Apostle Michael Ehrich from Germany says. Thousands of young people will be coming together in Düsseldorf (Germany) from 30 May to 2 June to enjoy a few days of fellowship. This youth event is international in nature because many people from other European countries and from all over the world will be participating. In a recent interview, District Apostle Ehrich said: “We will be inviting 15 youth each from Ghana and Nigeria. Seventy or 80 young people will be coming from Ukraine, some maybe from the Balkan countries, Israel, or the Arab countries. We will be paying for the greater part of the trip, but the young people are expected to pay a share of the travel expenses. Unfortunately, we can only invite a small group. District Apostle Rainer Storck, who also looks after African countries, and I spoke about this. He agrees: he will be doing the same.”
