They have lost everything: their possessions, their home, and many of their loved ones. More than 50 million people worldwide have been forced from their homes. Tomorrow, 20 June, is World Refugee Day, an occasion for nac.today to take a look at some of the refugee camps in East Africa.

Following the devastating earthquake in Nepal, acute emergency efforts by international organizations are already in full swing. In the meantime, the aid agencies and District Churches of the New Apostolic Church are getting ready to do their part with the next big wave of help, namely the reconstruction effort.

Helping to build the temple of God … This implies that we can contribute to the work that is being done in the church of Christ. But first of all it means that we have to work upon our own soul and its salvation. How can we do that? Following are some building blocks from a recent divine service by Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider.

Helping out wherever there is a need, in accordance with the words recorded in the gospel of Matthew: "For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink..." Kitchener Central is the name of the church where Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider will conduct a divine service in Canada this weekend. The building is relatively unique in the New Apostolic architectural landscape – and conceals historical backgrounds that are not obvious at first glance.

Karl Gutbrod, once the District Apostle of the Württemberg district in Germany, was a master builder in every sense of the word. On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of his death, nac.today looks at the work of a man who was not content with only laying spiritual foundations.

Even after the International Church Convention in Munich, which was the highlight for many, there were a lot of other happenings in the New Apostolic Church worldwide. Some of the important and interesting highlights from the second half of the year were as follows.

The 120 girls and boys will have had a lot to tell when they returned home to South Africa after their eleven-day concert tour in Germany. They also shared their impressions with nac.today.

Bangui/Zurich. “Please do not grow tired of praying for us here in the Central African Republic, as it is only our heavenly Father who can bring peace to this country.” This touching call for help closes an email written by New Apostolic Christians from the Central African Republic.

Zurich/Brussels. Since the start of September, the members of the New Apostolic congregation in the Belgian capital of Brussels have been the proud owners of a new church building. District Apostle Bernd Koberstein dedicated the new place of worship at 80 Avenue Franz Guillaume and rejoiced over the special celebratory event together with the 250 members and guests in attendance.

Zurich. The divine service which Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider will conduct on Pentecost Sunday on the occasion of the International Church Convention of the New Apostolic Church will be transmitted to over 100 countries on all continents with the help of satellites, fibre optic cables, and radio broadcasters. His sermon will first be interpreted into English at the altar phrase by phrase, and then interpreted simultaneously into over 20 other languages.

Zurich/Cape Town. With a seating capacity of 4,000, the New Apostolic congregation in Tafelsig (Cape Town) has the largest church building of the New Apostolic Church anywhere in the world. It was there that Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber conducted the divine service on Pentecost 2010, which was transmitted by satellite to approximately 5,000 other New Apostolic congregations around the globe.
