Children are a blessing in a congregation and the youth are the future of the Church. Because we are aware of this many people are engaged in working to develop young talent—from the Sunday School teachers in the congregations to the Chief Apostle. Examples from four continents.

The new year not only brings a new motto and good wishes with it, but also concrete plans and unique meetings.

Bread is being distributed in church. No, not Holy Communion, real bread. It is the sheer poverty of the people that is making this necessary. And these scenes were experienced by New Apostolic Christians in Moldova, a country in the eastern part of Europe. The Chief Apostle will be visiting Moldova this weekend.

“Great! Outstanding! Wonderful voices! A fantastic programme!”—such were the unanimous reactions to the evening’s musical programme. Pentecost concerts are legendary. The special thing about this year was a children’s choir from Cape Town that performed in Wiesbaden.

The countdown is on: 32 days to go to this year’s Pentecost celebrations. This time in Frankfurt (Germany). The preparations are in full swing and there is growing excitement. There is even a dedicated website.

Every tenth person in Zambia is New Apostolic. Such numbers is something that the Hamburg native, Nicole Ide, is not familiar with at home. Snow at Pentecost? A strange phenomenon for those living north of the Equator. But in the Southern Hemisphere this is nothing unusual at this time of the year. In fact, the world is so big and colourful that what seems normal for us may appear novel and perhaps a little unusual for someone else somewhere else. A look at some of our congregations on three continents proves the point.

Crawling through archives generates the sensation of adventure. But browsing through diaries and hitting on interesting pictures is something that can also be done online these days, for instance in the digital reading room of the central archives of the New Apostolic Church North Rhine-Westphalia in Germany. And we hit on something interesting: documents covering the first visit of a Chief Apostle to Africa fifty years ago.

“This was a typical Zambian concert – filled with joy and filled with the Holy Spirit! What can I say? Great!” It was with these words that Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider expressed his thanks to the many choir members and instrumentalists – and there were several hundred of them!

In order to get a better picture of the international motto for the year—“Joy in Christ”—the New Apostolic Church of South East Africa developed a logo, just as other District Churches have also done. But this insignia has a special additional message. District Apostle Mandla Patrick Mkhwanazi explains:

Some 70,000 people have been left homeless as a result of flash-floods, a District Apostle visits a Sunday School class, an Apostle retires, and members in northern Germany are happy about the demolition of an old fire station.

The 120 girls and boys will have had a lot to tell when they returned home to South Africa after their eleven-day concert tour in Germany. They also shared their impressions with nac.today.

Kinshasa/Zurich. On Sunday, 26 October 2014 Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider ordained seven new Apostles and four new Bishops for the District Church of Congo-West.

Zurich/Nairobi. The international leader of the New Apostolic Church, Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider spent the last weekend of June in Kenya. This was the first time that he had ever come to the country as Chief Apostle. Hundreds of thousands of members had long been looking forward to this visit.

Cape Town. The exact date on which Evangelist Carl Klibbe arrived in Cape Town is not known. He spread the message of salvation as preached in the New Apostolic Church. This, in time, served as the springboard for the Church into the whole of Africa.
