After 48 years in ministry and six years as a District Apostle, Jürg Zbinden will retire next Sunday. He enjoyed being there for his brothers and sisters and will continue to be active on the foundation board of the NAK-Humanitas aid organisation.

Everyone is welcome, whether sick or healthy, young or old: the doors of our church are wide open. Shaping the church is something that can be done together. Here are examples from the New Apostolic world.

Music is powerful: making music brings people together, builds bridges between the generations, lets people discover new things, and even raises money for a good cause.

Those who practise the Christian faith will not only be concerned about their own salvation. After all, Jesus wants to help all human beings. And “the more His wish, the more His desire, grows in us, the more we too will want to contribute to the salvation of our neighbour,” said the Chief Apostle.

“Even in the darkest of times, you can always be sure that our God is at your side.” This certainty is something that the congregations of Venezuela would like to share with their brethren in faith all around the world—here are some glimpses into their circumstances of life.

Thirteen official aid organisations have emerged from the New Apostolic Church, which means that there are countless individuals who are helping along to make a better world. Today, on the occasion of World Humanitarian Day, we pay tribute to them.

Prayer works! The year may have progressed significantly, but the annual motto for 2024 remains current. Children learned more about it, young people studied and discussed it, and musicians—from Poland, France, Romania, Italy, and South Africa, for example—even put the motto to music.

It all started at the end of the 1970s, when ministers from Zambia, the USA, Germany, and Kenya came to Tanzania to bring the New Apostolic faith to the African nation. This weekend, the Chief Apostle will be visiting a country with more than a quarter million Church members.

They live far away from one another and rarely come together. It is not always easy for New Apostolic young people in the USA to find their place in the congregation. The Church leadership has therefore had to think of a way to support them in their spiritual development.

There is always a reason to thank God, and not just that wells can be built in Burkina Faso, for example, or schools in the Philippines. ‌Congregations in South Africa and Argentina also have a lot to be grateful for. They celebrated anniversaries. Here is a colourful bouquet of good news.

The publication with the largest circulation in the New Apostolic Church is tiny in comparison. Printed, it is leaflet size. Several languages also produce a yearbook version. We are talking about the Divine Service Guide. ‌The authors recently met so that the publication can continue to be created.

The Church’s own health insurance, a football league of congregational teams, and a working area that spanned half the globe: today we celebrate the 130th birthday of Heinrich Franz Schlaphoff—an Apostle unlike any other.

They conduct divine services, dispense the sacraments, and sometimes they are allowed to sit back and relax. Three District Apostles and a District Apostle Helper provide insight into their daily work.

Karl Hartmann had to move, and God was already there. This was something He often experienced. Instead of sitting back and enjoying congregational life, he put his shoulder to the wheel and became involved. One hundred years ago today, he became a District Apostle.

In Angola, a woman becomes a mama by her mid-30s at the latest—even if she has no children. Because then she can take part in the activities of the Groupe des Mamas.

If is often said that young people are the future of the Church. Yet not only they but everyone can contribute to the future of our Church. Whether with ideas, with a ministerial mandate, or with a smile to create a congregation in which everyone feels welcome.

With over 1.7 million Swiss francs you can do a lot of good, such as putting a smile on someone’s face, creating social inclusion, or providing help in times of great need. In 2023 too, NAK-Humanitas, the charity of the New Apostolic Church Switzerland, once again used the donated funds in the spirit of Christian charity.
