“What fantastic news!” – Two Chief Apostles in Buchholz
Buchholz? Never heard of it? It is a small town just outside of Hamburg in the north of Germany, where the retired Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber lives, who led the New Apostolic Church from 2005 to 2013. And Buchholz is where Chief Apostle Schneider will be on Good Friday: the Chief Apostle will visit the Chief Apostle.

What is the actual sequence of a New Apostolic divine service anyway? This question comes up often, especially when guests are present in a divine service for a baptism or confirmation, for example. The liturgical order of the divine services is the same for all divine services, and applies all around the world.

Being a help to the dead is an expression of God’s will
In all churches there are memorial ceremonies and services—defined to a greater or lesser extent—for loved ones who have passed away. Some Orthodox denominations celebrate with bread and cake at the grave. Other churches celebrate services of remembrance. The New Apostolic Church celebrates divine services for the departed three times each year.

New District Apostle Area: Northern and Eastern Germany
District Apostle Wilfried Klingler will go into retirement in June 2016. He is responsible for the New Apostolic Church in four German states: Lower Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony, and Thuringia. Legally, the Church in this part of Germany is registered under the name Neuapostolische Kirche Mitteldeutschland (New Apostolic Church Central Germany). Beginning with the District Apostle’s retirement, this region will merge with the District Apostle Area of Northern Germany.
