More than one thousand people to seal in a three-hour service! Where is that still possible? In Zambia, a New Apostolic stronghold. The Apostles have their hands full.

Knowing that we have been elected by grace gives us a fundamental sense security. “But this does not imply automatic salvation,” Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider says. What do we have to do to secure our election?

The salvation of your soul is precious. At least, it has cost God an infinite amount. And you? How precious is it to you? – Here are some standards of value from a divine service by the Chief Apostle.

The size says nothing. What matters is that there is an atmosphere of joy. That the size of a congregation is not necessarily crucial is proven by many examples around the globe. Our trip takes us from Asia to Brazil and on to Africa and Italy.

In all churches there are memorial ceremonies and services—defined to a greater or lesser extent—for loved ones who have passed away. Some Orthodox denominations celebrate with bread and cake at the grave. Other churches celebrate services of remembrance. The New Apostolic Church celebrates divine services for the departed three times each year.

Believers here gather for divine service in a stadium even during the rainy season. It is here that hundreds of believers receive the sacrament of Holy Sealing in the same divine service—and it is here that many have not yet seen the Chief Apostle. The latter will change this weekend.

Pastoral care should not just remain a concept. It has to be practised in order to be experienced. Pastoral care goes to heart and it takes an active interest especially in the bad moments of peoples’ lives. Such as in Taiwan after the earthquake or when congregations are scattered and regular divine services are not possible.

Great need, many small joys, and an energetic sense of community: that was the year 2015 from the perspective of New Apostolic Christians in Asia and Australia, the second region to look back over the year on nac.today.

Why do we give God the glory? Why do we trust Him? Why do we keep our promises and proclaim salvation in Christ to our neighbour? The Chief Apostle supplied answers to these questions at Thanksgiving.

The New Apostolic Church is active in almost all countries on all continents. Africa is home to the majority of members. Countries such as the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Zambia top the list. At its recent conference in Johannesburg, the District Apostle Meeting made a slight adjustment to the worldwide membership figures.

In the archives of the New Apostolic Church, there are extensive travel reports of Chief Apostle Ernst Streckeisen’s journeys between 1975 and 1978. Today, Ernst Streckeisen would have been 110 years old.

Are we still on the right way? The way is determined by the goal we want to reach. How good if there are signs along the path. But we also have to be able to understand them. In a recent youth service, the Chief Apostle explained some of the signs.

Living where other people spend their holidays … This is the case for many New Apostolic Christians too. Yet they do the same as everybody else and go about their daily lives. Following is a glimpse at the normal day-to-day life in three different District Churches.

“He was a young and deeply faithful man of God with vision,” District Apostle (ret.) Brinkmann describes his friend and companion, Sukami Landu Ronsard, the first Angolan Apostle. He died on 27 August 1989 at the age of 31 in an ambush by rebels. Thirty years ago to the day, Apostle Ronsard was ordained as an Apostle.

A man with a clear profile … Not only his imposing appearance, his voice, and his poise contributed to his striking personality, but most of all his heart’s attitude. District Apostle Klaus of Southern Germany would have been 75 years of age today.

Small congregation, big impact … Although the membership of the New Apostolic Church in Denmark is small, the country nevertheless has managed to produce a District Apostle. And the roots for the work of the Church on an entire subcontinent lie in Denmark.
