Young Adult Conference in the USA
The target group is from 18 to 35 years of age—young adults in this age segment are not only invited to the International Youth Day in 2019, but already have an open offer for this year in the USA, where a conference for young adults has been planned for October. They are to have a say about what happens in the Church. For the host, District Apostle Leonard Kolb, this topic is a top priority. On the Saturday morning he will personally speak to them about “first steps” by describing the already existing conceptual contents of the Church’s work with children and youth. Then the young adults will be asked what the “next steps” should be. What should follow? What should be changed?
New nursery school in Moldova
A new kindergarten has been opened up in Moldova. It has been financed by the New Apostolic Church Switzerland’s aid agency, BNA-Humanitas, which sponsors projects in both Moldova and Romania. It took a good year of construction before the festive opening could take place on Friday, 2 September 2016. The new building in Răzeni is beautiful, bright and open. It is the first nursery school centre in Răzeni, a village of around 8,000 residents, some 30 kilometres from the Moldovan capital of Chisinau. The spokesman for BNA-Humanitas, Bishop André Kreis, thanked all involved in the charitable project, who had made the success of this kindergarten possible, for their good working relationship and active support. “Children cannot choose the circumstances in which they want to spend the first years of their lives. But children do have the right to experience as much good as possible.” He addressed special thanks to the many donors in Switzerland who had contributed to this project.
The nursery school offers 30 children a home in familiar surroundings from Monday to Friday each week. The facility plans to expand in the future in order to accommodate another ten children.
Radio programme in Southern Germany
For some years now, the New Apostolic Church in Southern Germany has been broadcasting its own radio programme over public airwaves. It is a fifteen-minute broadcast that occurs once each month. The September programme focused on the subject of divine services in sign language. This additional offer of the New Apostolic Church was also the subject of an earlier report on nac.today. Hearing impaired Christians come from all age groups, both young and old. And since 25 September 2016 is “World Deaf Day”, the members of the radio editing team of Southern Germany decided to mark the occasion by visiting a sign language interpreter who has been translating divine services into sign language in his congregation for many years. The radio segment, which was produced on 4 September, can be accessed in the German language in the media library.
