Young brothers take on responsibility in the Church, and brothers and sisters in South Africa celebrate the dedication of their church building. nac.today takes a look at the congregational life on three continents.

Ordination in Kedoya (Indonesia)

A Priest and a Deacon were ordained by District Apostle Urs Hebeisen during a divine service in Jakarta on 21 October 2015. Deacon Keefe Setiobudi was ordained as a Priest and Natanael Nugroho was ordained as a Deacon.

District Apostle Hebeisen writes, “It is important to have young brothers growing up who are willing to carry responsibility in the Church. We call them carriers of the future.” The District Apostle based the divine service on Luke 12: 21, “So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”

Thanksgiving and dedication (South Africa)

On the second weekend of October, the congregation of Nieuwoudtville in Namaqualand celebrated Thanksgiving and the dedication of their new church. The festivities marked the twenty-fifth anniversary of the beginnings of the Church in the area. Bishop Adonis dedicated the new building in a divine service on 11 October. A short choral was presented to the congregation by the choir after the divine service.

The website of the New Apostolic Church South Africa also reports that at the conclusion of the concert, the Bishop asked retired District Elder Petersen, who was instrumental in starting the first congregation in the area, to share his experiences with the members.

The newest copy of Vision is online (USA)

The New Apostolic Church USA has been publishing Vision, its quarterly newsletter, since 2009. Its newest edition has just been released. It is published once each season and is sent to all congregations in printed format as well as electronically. Vision features district news and gives spiritual impulses. Its current autumn edition includes a survey, in which District Apostle Kolb asks the USA brothers and sisters for their feedback on the midweek experience.

In his editorial, the District Apostle quotes the prophet Jeremiah, “The harvest is past,
the summer is ended, and we are not saved!” (Jeremiah 8: 20). Such thoughts may also plague us at times, he says, and encourages the brothers and sisters to take heart, “We are not lost; we remain resolute in our belief and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Jesus too suffered rejection, persecution, betrayal, denial, and often He was alone.”

All editions of Vision may be downloaded free of charge from the website of the New Apostolic Church USA .
