Construction, development, and growth—there is a great deal going on in the congregations and districts around the world. A new Bishop was ordained, a new school inaugurated, and new websites launched. Read on.

A new Bishop for Spain

Pedro Olmedo is the new Bishop for the district of Spain. District Apostle Markus Fehlbaum ordained him and additional ministers in a divine service on 17 July in Madrid. More than 200 participated in the divine service. The District Apostle spent four days in Spain, where he celebrated three divine services, held meetings, and had pastoral care conversations.

A new school on Negros

The island of Negros in the Philippines, known for its sugar production, was devastated by Typhoon Hayan in November 2013. Over the last two years, a great deal of rebuilding has been going on. Thanks to funds from NAK-Humanitas, the charity of the New Apostolic Church Switzerland, a damaged school could also be rebuilt in the village of Hulugon. The faculty, the parents, and the children are very happy. The village is situated in the mountains of the island and was particularly hard hit by the typhoon. Thanks to the generous financial help from NAK-Humanitas, the charity of the New Apostolic Church South-East Asia, NACSEARelief, was able to initiate and supervise the project. The two charities have worked together on a number of projects.

The Church launches three new websites in Africa

The New Apostolic Church in the countries of Sierra Leone, Ghana, and Nigeria has recently launched its own local websites. The websites do not only provide news and current events, information on the doctrine and the structure and organization of the Church, but also allow access to local contacts. The congregations in these countries are looked after by the New Apostolic Church Southern Germany.

On increasing its web presence, the Church says: “Since Internet penetration in West Africa is increasing and it is being used more and more, it is a good idea to present the local District Churches to the general public on the Internet. The website also provides the local members with the opportunity to access information and news.”

Belarus reassigned

With the retirement of District Apostle Wilfried Klingler, Belarus was reassigned to the District Church Berlin-Brandenburg (Germany). Following a joint visit in April with District Apostle Klingler, District Apostle Wolfgang Nadolny travelled to his new field of activity in June. He was there from 24 June to 4 July 2016 to conduct seminars for ministers in the region of Minsk (Belarus) and in Irkutsk (Russia). The District Apostle reports about his trip on the website of the New Apostolic Church Berlin-Brandenburg.
