Chief Apostle Schneider immediately clarified who really deserves the honour: “You!” Prior to this, the Mayor of Baia Mare, Cătălin Cherecheș, had presented him with the honorary citizen award.

During his visit to Romania at the end of March 2018, Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider was awarded honorary citizenship by the city of Baia Mare. Following the divine service on 25 March 2018, the Mayor presented the Chief Apostle with the framed certificate. Chief Apostle Schneider expressed his gratitude and turned to the congregation: “I was able to understand the Mayor very well. My name is on this. But I am only your representative. The good was accomplished by you. You deserve the honour.”
