Listen to it

The main task of the Apostle ministry is the dispensing of the sacraments and the proclamation of the gospel. But sometimes their work also involves things such as presenting a wheelchair or going for a walk on the beach. Here are a few examples of the kind of support services Apostles offer.

A walk on the beach with the Apostle

Almost 500 confirmands, rectors, Sunday School teachers, and youth leaders enjoyed a walk on the beach 11 November. The Apostle welcomed everyone and shared a few encouraging thoughts with them. He spoke to them about how to learn to understand their faith and did much of the same during the walk with those he met along the way. Before enjoying some fellowship and going their separate ways, everyone formed a human 2024 while an aerial view picture was taken. Everyone departed in high spirits.

The gift of mobility

On behalf of the New Apostolic Church Ghana, Apostle Anthony Kuada donated a wheelchair to Promise Habia, a young and physically disabled brother, on 5 November. Promise Habia, who lives in Adaklu Wumenu, was left paralysed by an illness at the age of twelve. With the help of members from the congregation, his parents always managed to make it possible for him to attend church. Thanks to the new wheelchair our brother is now mobile and will be able to get around more independently.

Gathering of all Nigerian Apostles

All of Nigeria’s Apostles travelled to Lagos (Nigeria) on 13 October for their second annual conference. The leaders of the New Apostolic Church in Nigeria discussed proposed seminars for the year 2024, a new approach on how to reactivate inactive congregations, and they spoke about the fiftieth anniversary of the New Apostolic Church in Nigeria. The conference was chaired by Lead Apostle Geoffrey Nwogu.

Two congregations in Lagos East and Lagos West were delighted to welcome the Apostles to their divine service on Sunday, 15 October.

Fear not!

Apostle Anatoly Budnyk drove more than a thousand kilometres recently to comfort and strengthen his brothers and sisters affected by the war in eastern Ukraine. He drove for two days until he reached the congregations of Kamianske and Zaporizhzhia. In Kamianske he conducted a divine service on 14 October, which he based on Luke 12: 32: “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” He sealed three people with the Holy Spirit and ordained a young brother as a Deacon. The following day in Zaporizhzhia, Apostle Budnyk based his service on Proverbs 24: 16: “For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, but the wicked shall fall by calamity.”

Both times, the Apostle took time after the divine service to talk to the brothers and sisters and to encourage them.
