Zurich. Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber chose this year’s Pentecost greeting from 1 Corinthians 15: 57: “But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ!” In a letter addressed to all congregations of the New Apostolic Church around the world, the Church leader writes: “Christ attained the greatest victory of all on Golgotha, namely the victory over death. Those who belong to Christ can share in this victory.”

Each year on Pentecost, the international Church leader of the New Apostolic Church sends a special Pentecost greeting to all New Apostolic congregations around the world. For the year 2009, this special text was taken from 1 Corinthians 15: 57. In a letter to all the Apostles, Chief Apostle Leber shares his thoughts on this passage. He writes as follows:

“This passage indicates that the Lord will stand by us and give us the strength in order to attain victories ourselves, no matter how small they may be. The important thing is to gain the victory over unbelief, unbridled egoism, despondency, and sluggishness. May it be our motto to gain a victory every day!”
