There is currently one Apostle for every day of the year—the New Apostolic Church International registered a total of 365 active Apostles for the period between November 2024 and April 2025. Among them are sixteen new Apostles and one District Apostle Helper.
A new District Apostle Helper for South America
The District Apostle area of South America has received a new District Apostle Helper. Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider recently assigned Apostle Edwin Herman Ernst Guigou as a new Helper at the side of District Apostle Enrique Eduardo Minio. Together they serve the countries of Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay, and Uruguay. The plan is for Apostle Ernst to succeed District Apostle Minio as Church leader.
The Apostle ministry in motion
Apostles Desmond Malcolm Lodewick and Trevor David Williams from Australia were retired at the end of April. Shaun Conrad Van Wyngaard and Eugene Rupert Volkwyn were ordained as new Apostles in their place.
There was also a change in ministry in the Republic of Congo. By commission of the Chief Apostle, Hermann Davy Kitsoukou Mouloumbou and Evariste Gaëtan Massamba were ordained to the Apostle ministry by District Apostle Mark Woll in January. In turn, Apostle Emile Mpele was retired.
In November of last year, District Apostle Michael Ehrich retired Apostles Moses Otchere-Ayarkwa (Ghana) and Sédjro Kodjo Amevoh (Togo) by commission of the Chief Apostle. In the same divine service, he ordained three new Apostles, namely Patric Yiadom Konadu for Ghana, Yovo Francois Esse for Togo, and Jacques Tolno for Guinea.
Two new Apostles were likewise ordained in Kenya, namely Hillary Mutembei Ithalii and Johnson Kyalo Musumbi, while Apostle Chrispin Kinyuah was retired. The congregations in Mozambique were also happy to receive two new Apostles, namely Dias Paulo Tesoura and Fernando Domingos. There was likewise a change in Nigeria: Apostle Emmanuel Olaonipekun Adeyemi has been given responsibility for the working area of Apostle Geoffrey Odinakachi Nwogu.
The congregations of Panama are delighted to welcome their newly ordained Apostle Jesús Ernesto Rangel Aguilar. And on the other side of the world, John Kundi was ordained to the Apostle ministry for Papua New Guinea,.
While Johnson Turyahabwe was ordained as the new Apostle for Uganda, Apostle James Kimera was retired from ministry.
Beyond that, the brothers and sisters of Uruguay have welcomed Alfredo Aníbal Silveira Etcheverry, who has served them as an Apostle since March.
At the beginning of the year, Apostle Gilbert Halder from Bangladesh, Apostle Sanjay Gopal Shastri from India, and Apostle Nadeem Mushtaq from Pakistan were retired.
Bidding farewell
On 10 April 2025, Zambia’s former District Apostle, Duncan Burton Mfune, passed away at the age of 88. As the first black District Apostle, he was a trailblazer in his working area.
