We have a simple yet powerful motto for 2025: “It’s time to do good!” These words are not just a slogan, but an urgent invitation. Every believer is to recognise that the present moment is always the right time to act with kindness, compassion, and integrity.
Not only for a moment, but the whole time of one’s life of faith. Doing good is not a one-off event or a short-lived campaign. It is a lifelong calling, inseparable from the Christian walk. From the first steps of faith to life’s final chapter, every stage offers opportunities to reflect God’s goodness in words, actions, and attitudes.
Motivated by love for God and one’s neighbour. The reason behind every good deed is love: love for God, who loved us first; and love for people, whom He created in His image. This love is not sentimental but active: it motivates believers to care, to give, to forgive, and to serve without expecting anything in return.
For God is love and the one who dwells in love dwells in God. This truth, rooted in the Bible, is the foundation of our annual motto. When believers choose to dwell in love, they also dwell in God’s presence. This transforms not only their own lives but also the lives of those around them, making every act of goodness a reflection of God Himself.
Doing good is the distinguishing characteristic and feature of the disciples of Jesus Christ.
Goodness is not an optional extra in discipleship; it is its defining mark. Jesus Himself made it clear that His followers would be known by their love. In the same way, the motto encourages us to become involved in our congregations and communities as people who actively embody and live Christ’s compassion.
It’s really time to do good. The call is urgent. In a world facing division, hardship, and indifference, the motto urges us to act now. Do not wait for the perfect opportunity, because the perfect time is today. Every gesture of kindness and every decision to help others out of love fulfils a little more of the task that has been entrusted to every believer.
