Consistent, flexible, protective: this is how corporate design strengthens the identity of the New Apostolic Church around the world. The Church has just revised its design manual.

To protect the figurative mark of the Church emblem and the word mark of the New Apostolic Church, the New Apostolic Church International (NACI) has systematically established trademark protection. In addition to these legal measures, a corporate design has been in place for many years. An updated version of the relevant manual has been made available to the Regional Churches worldwide in English, French, and German, with Spanish to follow shortly.

A consistent identity and clear communication

Corporate design is the consistent visual identity of an entire organisation across all forms of communication and presentation. For the New Apostolic Church, this means, for example, that the logo must not be used or adapted at will. Corporate design clearly defines the correct use of the logo in terms of colour, proportions, and permitted variations.

A distinctive and consistent corporate identity strengthens the identity of the New Apostolic Church worldwide. It is also a key element for effective and credible communication. To provide clear guidance, the New Apostolic Church International has revised its Corporate Design Manual.

Global uniformity – scope for local adaptation

For one thing, this manual provides clear orientation and allows all to act with confidence. Furthermore, special attention has been paid to the diversity of cultural contexts in which the New Apostolic Church operates around the world. The manual establishes design principles that strike a balance between global consistency with sufficient flexibility for local adaptation and creative implementation.

Key design elements—such as the brand logo, colour palette, typography, and imagery—form the foundation for a consistent visual language. The correct use of the logo is particularly important. It not only guarantees a strong consistent visual identity, but also provides the necessary legal certainty and safeguards the Church’s brand in the long term.

A quick look at the manual

The manual sets standards and defines the correct use of the logo. This includes its anatomy, fonts, colours, dimension and clear space, variations, position and sizes, and its use as a transparent element.  And it provides some examples for how the logo may be used.

There are also further resources relating to print and online media. This section features various templates for letterheads, envelopes, business cards, posters, leaflets, brochures, and postcards, as well as for websites, social media, PowerPoint presentations, and screen designs for video broadcasts.

Another aspect is the design of promotional materials and outdoor signage. Examples are provided to explain what needs to be considered when creating and using these items—from giveaways to flags to outdoor signage.
