Countless ideas have emerged about how the return of Christ might unfold. Very few people, however, would expect Him to arrive in a South Korean compact car.
American Daniel Powell was quite astonished when he received a message from the taxi company he had contacted: “Christ is arriving soon in a Hyundai Elantra. After arriving, they’ll wait 2 minutes before charges begin for their time.” Of course, Christ was the taxi driver’s first name. Daniel shared a screenshot of the message thread online with the comment: “Not how I expected him to come back, but okay.” Shortly afterwards, the driver even got in touch personally: “Message from Christ: I have arrived!”
Another customer, whose driver had a Latin American background, had a similar experience. He was told that Jesus—a common first name in Spanish-speaking countries—was waiting for him outside his front door. His comment: “Is that a threat?” Stories to make you smile—and to make you think. What will it be like when Christ returns? Probably quite different from what we imagine; and as charming as the idea may be, He is unlikely to be driving a Hyundai.
