At home all over the world – Help that connects

Whether through youth gatherings, benefit concerts, or fundraising campaigns, New Apostolic congregations around the world are reaching out to help others.

On 10 May 2026, around 116 young people from the congregation of Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, set out for Lonstry, a small village on the island of Bioko, 43 kilometres away. Ten members of the New Apostolic Church live there. The young people had not only gone there for a youth meeting, but also to attend a divine service with the small congregation and to enjoy fellowship. The group had brought various essential supplies for the village and the congregation, which were gratefully received by the village leader.

Music for a good cause

Two benefit concerts were given in South Africa to support the Masakhe Foundation: one on 23 August 2026 in the Olympus congregation and another on 30 August 2026 in our Silvertown church. Masakhe is the charity arm of the New Apostolic Church Southern Africa. Its work is carried out largely by volunteers.

The concert choirs and orchestra of the New Apostolic Church in Gauteng performed at the concert in Olympus. In Silvertown, it was the Cape Town Youth Choir, the Cape Town Sunday School Choir, and the Cape Town Orchestra who put on the benefit concert. District Apostle Peter Lambert presented the proceeds from both concerts, together with the donations collected, totalling 600,000 rand (approximately 36,500 US dollars), to the Masakhe Foundation.

Successful fundraising campaigns

Priest Melvin Moigua and Martha Koroma from Sierra Leone each took part in a fundraising challenge to support disadvantaged young people from the Lumley congregation in Freetown to help them access vocational training. Martha won the challenge and used the funds raised to provide opportunities including computer courses and driving lessons.

Every year, enthusiastic motorcyclists gather in Gummersbach, Germany. On 12 July 2026, the 17th biker service took place there, which was followed by an opportunity to enjoy one another’s company. The bikers were given an update on the fundraising campaign launched at the previous biker service to support church construction in Guinea-Bissau. This year, donations are being collected for an outpatient hospice for children and young people in Olpe, Germany.

From 12 July to 23 August 2026, the congregation of Wuppertal-Elberfeld in Germany organised a fundraising campaign for a women’s shelter in Wuppertal. Donations included household items such as kitchen utensils, electrical appliances, and furniture—and cash donations totalling 775 euros. Following a successful application for funding through NAK-karitativ, the project received an additional grant of 2,000 euros.
