Washing the neighbour’s feet … How we can help in our congregations is something that young brothers and sisters in Australia worked on. nac.today also provides information on a selection of publications available from the district churches and reports about the death of Apostle Mwale.

Democratic Republic of the Congo: Apostle (ret.) Mwale dies

The retired Apostle Edouard Mwale passed away on Monday, 22 July 2015 at the age of 69. In his circular, Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider characterized him as a loving and kind colleague, who was known for his fiery sermons and well liked because of them.

This past Wednesday, District Apostle Tshitshi Tshisekedi conducted the funeral in our central church in Kolwezi. Apostle Mwale leaves his wife, Muika Kabemo, and nine children.

Apostle Mwale was born on 25 December 1946 in Kalabi, and was ordained as a Sub-deacon in 1979. The ministries of Deacon, Priest, Evangelist, and District Elder followed. On 4 September 1994 Chief Apostle Fehr ordained him as an Apostle in a divine service in Luanda in Angola. Chief Apostle Wilhelm Leber placed Apostle Mwale into retirement on 24 January 2010. He had served as a minister in the Church for 30 years.

Conference in Australia: Make me a servant

Over the last several months those aged 18 to 34 in Suva on Fiji and in Melbourne in Australia have come together for the so-called NACYAC, the New Apostolic Church Young Adults Conference. These conferences, which last an entire weekend, have become somewhat of a tradition in the working area of District Apostle Andrew Andersen. This year’s motto is “Make me a servant”, and the young brothers and sisters compiled and prepared presentations on what they can do to help along in the congregations. Assisting the youth in Fiji was Apostle Trevor Williams, and in Melbourne it was District Apostle Andersen.

The objective of NACYAC is to inspire brothers and sisters to help along in the congregations.

There are about 120,000 New Apostolic Christians in the working area of District Apostle Andersen, who are dispersed over 822 congregations. The District Apostle is supported by more than 5,000 ministers, including five Apostles and two Bishops.
