Pandemic-related restrictions are unfortunately the order of the day virtually everywhere in the world. That does not mean, however, that all church activities have ceased. These gems of brotherhood still exist.

Youth meeting in Ghana

The youth is often described as the future of the Church. For this assertion to come true a conscious effort is already required today. With this in mind, a youth gathering was organised at the beginning of January 2021 in Liti Dafornu in the Hohoe District. The participants came from several congregations. The first thing on the agenda was a hike to Tagbo Falls. The waterfall is located at the foot of Mount Afadjato, the highest mountain in Ghana. The youth undertook a 45-minute walk to the falls. For some this was the first visit to a tourist attraction.

Later in the afternoon, the youth gathered at our congregation in Liati Dafornu for fellowship and activities such as singing, choreography, open forum, and presentations. The key presentation was given by District Elder Christopher Xa (Hohoe District). He asked the youth to be true followers of Jesus Christ.

Apostle visits Moldova

Apostle Vasile Cone is responsible for the New Apostolic congregations in the Republic of Moldova in Eastern Europe. In spite of Covid-19 restrictions he was able to visit congregations and conduct services. He was also able to meet with all district leaders of the country. In a divine service on Sunday, 10 January 2021, in our church in Chișinău, four people were sealed and two Deacons and a Priest ordained. District Evangelist Oleg Rosca was assigned as district rector for the newly established district of Centru. There are three church districts in the country now: North, Central, and South. The service was streamed via the internet.

Medical supplies for Sierra Leone

On 8 January 2021 a delegation of the New Apostolic Church visited the Wilberforce Barracks in Freetown in Sierra Leone to hand over medical supplies to the 34 Military Hospital. The group of five was headed by Shepherd Samuel Adae Cole, the regional supervisor for the district West Africa 1, which includes Sierra Leone, Guinea, Ivory Coast, and Liberia.

The hospital’s management was very happy when Shepherd Cole presented the medical supplies from the New Apostolic Church Southern Germany, which had been financed by a retired minister. Captain Ja Coker sincerely thanked the donors and Church on behalf of the Joint Medical Unit for this gift to the hospital.

Its second stop took the New Apostolic delegation to the National Rehabilitation Center to hand over medical supplies: knee braces, elastic bandages, and other items. The head of the physiotherapy department, Emile Amara, was very grateful for the items.
