At home all over the world: choirs celebrate God
Music connects, moves, and gives voice to gratitude. At concerts in Germany and Ghana, the focus was on God’s goodness, His faithfulness, and Jesus Christ.
“Jesus Christ: Companion, Saviour, Future” was the theme of two concerts held on 17 and 18 October 2026 as part of the third music project organised by the Heilbronn/Nuremberg Apostle District in Germany. A total of 900 people attended the performances of the choir and orchestra at St Moriz city church in Coburg and in the Heilbronn-Pfühl congregation. The programme featured music spanning several centuries, including works by Bach, Mozart, Mendelssohn, and Reger. The programme also included works in new arrangements, such as “A mighty fortress” and “Crown him with many crowns”.

On 3 October 2026, the Ruhr-West District Choir hosted a concert in the congregation Bottrop-Central, Germany, to celebrate Thanksgiving. The motto “Praise, honour, and thanks!” was a recurring theme throughout the programme of choral performances and instrumental pieces for piano, cello, and organ. The concert opened with the hymn “Praise the Lord with joy”. A specially written theatrical performance entitled “Simply Thank You?!” was also presented. Following the concert, donations were gratefully welcomed to help fund the choir’s future projects, including the purchase of sheet music licences and support for the aid organisation NAK-karitativ.

Melodies of gratitude
The Symphony of Thanks 2026 concert in the East Legon congregation in Ghana brought together members and guests for an inspiring evening of music and fellowship, anchored by the theme “A year of grace—from His fullness”. The programme unfolded in three distinct parts, with musical performances by the choir and orchestra highlighting the goodness of God. The first part featured seven musical compositions by local and foreign composers. This was followed by a Sunday School theatrical performance accompanied by the orchestra, which told the story of Jesus and the ten lepers. The choir and orchestra, together with the NAC-Tema brass band, brought the programme to a close.

The Osu congregation in Ghana held a concert on 26 September 2026 to celebrate Thanksgiving. The event was given the fitting theme “Thanksgiving and praise”. Choristers from the neighbouring congregations of Teshie and La provided enthusiastic support to the Osu choir. The concert focussed on God’s goodness and faithfulness. The programme was divided into three segments: choral and instrumental performances, a special presentation by the Sunday School, and the first performance of the Osu congregation orchestra.
