Southern Africa: the birth of a new district church

Reformation means change — thoughts for Reformation Day

It was on 31 October 1517 that Martin Luther is said to have nailed his Ninety-Five Theses to the church door in Wittenberg. In them he called for a discussion concerning the failings and shortcomings of the church at the time. This act sparked the Reformation of the church in Germany, which soon found adherents in many other European countries.

Good Hope: several generations under one roof

God’s commandments: orientation for human beings

No other collection of laws has had such a high degree of influence on the cultural history of mankind as the Ten Commandments of God. Here the term ‘commandment’ is a translation of the Hebrew word for “instruction”. The Ten Commandments thus serve as direction and orientation for humanity.

The first International Youth Day of the New Apostolic Church will run from 30 May to 2 June 2019. The rental contracts with the Düsseldorf fairgrounds have already been signed, and the planning committee is making some basic decisions on the programme of events.

The WG CDR nurtures outside contacts

WG CDR—an awkward acronym. Previously the committee was called “Project Group Ecumenism”. The name change became effective in February 2011.
