With less than six weeks to go until the 2026 Pentecost celebrations, excitement is building and preparations are entering an intense phase.

“As the day of Pentecost draws closer, preparations are heading into the final stretch,”  the New Apostolic Church Southern Africa reports on its website. In the week leading up to the 24th of May 2026, South Africa will be hosting virtually the entire New Apostolic world.

Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider will not only conduct the Pentecost service in the Tafelsig church in Cape Town. He has also announced that, on this occasion, he will hand over the leadership of the Church to his current assistant, Helge Mutschler, and ordain him as the new Chief Apostle. The event will be broadcast worldwide across various channels.

A day before the service, on Saturday, there will be a concert in the Silvertown Auditorium that will be streamed live on YouTube for audiences around the world. Earlier that week, on Wednesday, the District Apostles and their assistants will fan out across the region to conduct divine services. The District Apostle Meeting is scheduled for the two intervening days.

The closer Pentecost draws, the more the preparations are heading into the final stretch. “Teams have been working behind the scenes to manage the logistical aspects involved in hosting the various activities that will take place during the week of 18– 24 May 2026,” the website says.

Choirs and orchestras have been rehearsing intensively for the midweek services, the concert, and the Pentecost service. “The excitement among the groups has been palpable,” the website reports.

Photography teams have also been assigned to cover all the events. The NACTV team has likewise invested considerable effort in setting up the necessary broadcast infrastructure and equipment to ensure high-quality and disturbance-free transmissions of both the concert and the divine service.
