Practical knowledge on preaching, liturgy, pastoral care, and other topics: this is what the e-learning platform nac.academy offers. Access is very easy and open to anyone who is interested. Here is the first article of a new series.

“Welcome to the e-learning platform of the New Apostolic Church International.” This is how nac.academywelcomes its users on its homepage. All you need to access it is an email address and a few minutes.

One platform, multiple languages

nac.academy is not only the name of the new web-based learning platform, but also its Internet address. By typing the name into the address bar of your web browser (or clicking on this link), you will be taken to a page displaying the Church emblem, a photo of the NACI headquarters in Zurich, and a few buttons.

In the top right corner, the button with the flags, there is an option to select one’s preferred language. English, German, French, Spanish, Swahili, Portuguese, Italian, Indonesian, Lithuanian, Romanian, Albanian, and Tagalog are available at this point.

Two ways to reach your goal

It is easiest for users who are already registered for another service of the New Apostolic Church that uses SSO, Single Sign-On. To log in click on “SSO”, or enter your personal username and password.

Those who have no account yet, can access a registration form by clicking on “New Account Registration”. You will be asked to provide a username and password, as well as your first and last name, the country you are from, your email address, and your District Apostle Area. Click on “Register” once you have filled in the details. You will receive a confirmation email. From now on, you can use “Local Login”.

From introduction to learning module

Here, on the homepage, you will find everything you need to know. In the upper half, an introductory video explains the functions such as changing your preferred language, learning progress display, and interactive quiz elements. You can also meet the project manager who launched the project.

The learning modules are grouped together in the lower half of the homepage. These courses offer in-depth insight into each topic and encourage participants to deepen their knowledge in local seminars or to exchange ideas with others in your ministry circle.

In control of your personal data

A navigation bar on the left-hand side of the homepage provides access to all reference works in this context: the Catechism in long form and in Questions and Answers, the Liturgy Book, and the Guide for Ministers.

By clicking on the avatar with the cogwheel in the top right corner, you can personalise your settings. Here, you can also change the language, modify your profile data, or adjust data protection settings, among other things.

Learning when and where it suits you

Our concept of ministry, the doctrine of salvation for the departed, prayers in divine service, the sermon, and pastoral care: these are the current modules. Compact, multimedia lessons can be adapted to your own pace and are available anywhere on your desktop, tablet, or smartphone.

nac.today will provide information on the content and the features of nac.academy in the next instalments of this series.
