Listen to it

When disaster strikes and all you have left are the clothes you are wearing, every contribution helps. This is where NACSEA Relief comes in: fast, practical, and forward-looking.

“Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith” (Galatians 6: 10). This verse not only inspired the New Apostolic Church’s international motto for 2025, but also opens NACSEA Relief’s 2025 annual report, underlining the charity’s core values.

The relief organisation of the New Apostolic Church Southeast Asia also sets out its vision, “As a humanitarian organisation, we aim to provide value and promote volunteerism, besides help to the poor and needy.” And the organisation’s mission: “From immediate help to rehabilitation to sustainability we strive to be of assistance to those in need and trying life’s situations.”

Where the donations go

The financial report outlines the areas in which the charity is active. The largest share of funds went towards community and social projects. This accounts for 39 per cent of expenditure.

Educational assistance and disaster-typhoon relief and rebuilding, each account for 19 per cent of expenditure. Livelihood assistance represents 17 per cent, while general medical assistance and administrative expenses each account for 3 per cent.

Exemplary projects

In the T’boli region, South Cotabato, NACSEA Relief assists 41 farmers with corn seeds after their fields were destroyed by drought and adverse environmental conditions. Their goal is not only to provide short-term assistance, but to restore agricultural land so that people can return to a sustainable cycle of planting, harvesting, and renewed planting. In doing so, the project empowers families to regain long-term self-sufficiency.

In Sitio Datal Uga, Sarangani Province, a new elementary school has been constructed, offering children suitable learning conditions for the first time. The project encompasses not only the construction itself, but also furniture installation and sanitary facilities, as well as staff areas. It establishes a space where education can flourish and creates lasting opportunities for the next generation.

Following numerous typhoons and earthquakes, NACSEA Relief continues to provide comprehensive aid in several regions of the Philippines. Support ranges from initial relief efforts, such as food, water, and basic necessities, to rebuilding assistance. These initiatives consistently support multiple families at once, reflecting the organisation’s holistic approach—from immediate emergency aid to long-term sustainable development.

Where the donations come from

These and many other projects are made possible by donations. Thirty per cent of these funds are provided by NAK-karitativ in Germany and a further 28 per cent by NAK Humanitas, the relief organisation of the New Apostolic Church Switzerland. An additional 11 per cent comes from the Unfried Stiftung, a foundation which uses the bequest of a German couple to support scholarships and educational initiatives for young people.

“We also sincerely thank our major donors, both private and corporate, who prefer to remain anonymous and whose commitment is vital to the sustainability of our plans,” writes Urs Hebeisen, president of NACSEA Relief, to friends and supporters. “Equally important are the smaller contributions we receive.” Because: “Every EUR, CHF, USD, and CAD truly counts in making a difference.”
