Sometimes church construction is a tedious and nerve-racking affair, and other times there is incredibly quick progress. This was the case in one town in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Praising, sharing, protecting—there are many different ways to celebrate Thanksgiving. The congregations around the world set their own focus and priorities. And not all will be celebrating Thanksgiving this weekend.

Learning together and from one another: we make better progress when we work together, even when this involves acquiring new knowledge or abilities. This is an experience that is common to musicians, teachers, South Americans, Central Europeans, or West Africans.

Finding common ground, being there for one another, celebrating together: fellowship makes us strong—particularly in matters of faith. This applies as much to groups of friends as it does to denominations and even businesses.

The church pew is half empty, congregations are being amalgamated, and children haven’t been seen in ages—are we to simply sit idly and sadly by and wait for change? How do you bring life into a congregation? And how does a congregation even come into being in the first place?
