The New Apostolic Church Canada is mourning the passing of a true pioneer: Apostle (ret.) Edward Deppner passed away at the age of 78 years. He was instrumental in establishing the Church in 24 countries

We still carry last year’s motto in our hearts. But what else happened throughout the New Apostolic world in 2014? Following is a look at the happenings around the world in the first half of 2014.

In Zambia, the circle of Apostles is once again complete. This country in southern Africa is one of the largest on the New Apostolic map: nearly one fifth of the country’s Christians professes the New Apostolic faith.

“He is New Apostolic with all his heart,” a friend and companion says about Apostle João Uanuque Misselo. On 22 February, Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider will commission Him as a District Apostle Helper for Angola. This is an opportunity to look at his life and the country he lives in.

Some 70,000 people have been left homeless as a result of flash-floods, a District Apostle visits a Sunday School class, an Apostle retires, and members in northern Germany are happy about the demolition of an old fire station.

The Chief Apostle’s visit to the United Arab Emirates this coming weekend will fall under the motto “diversity”: many nations in one congregation and many denominations under one roof.

“Labour in love” was the motto that Chief Apostle Schneider laid into the hearts of the New Apostolic people around the world at the beginning of last year. What have the congregations done with it? nac.today asked the district churches.

The 120 girls and boys will have had a lot to tell when they returned home to South Africa after their eleven-day concert tour in Germany. They also shared their impressions with nac.today.

Today, 6 January marks Epiphany, a religious festival that is not all that well known in New Apostolic circles, but crops up in our publications now and then. It is one of the oldest Christian festivals.

Be it in a large circle or small, with a divine service or without, our members around the world have rung in the New Year in very different ways. But there is one thing that unites them all—and it’s more than just fireworks at midnight.

Zurich. Anyone who wants to become better acquainted with the District Church that boasts the largest number of New Apostolic Christians in the world now has a new opportunity to do so. By exploring online, interested parties will discover a broad range of special features—but in this case they will need some special expertise.

Kinshasa/Zurich. On Sunday, 26 October 2014 Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider ordained seven new Apostles and four new Bishops for the District Church of Congo-West.

Bangui/Zurich. “Please do not grow tired of praying for us here in the Central African Republic, as it is only our heavenly Father who can bring peace to this country.” This touching call for help closes an email written by New Apostolic Christians from the Central African Republic.

Berlin/Zurich. Another sunny day in Berlin begins. All 28 participants of the International District Apostle Meeting have arrived, namely the Chief Apostle as sponsor and chairman, along with nineteen District Apostles and eight District Apostle Helpers.

Zurich/Brussels. Since the start of September, the members of the New Apostolic congregation in the Belgian capital of Brussels have been the proud owners of a new church building. District Apostle Bernd Koberstein dedicated the new place of worship at 80 Avenue Franz Guillaume and rejoiced over the special celebratory event together with the 250 members and guests in attendance.

Karlsruhe/Zurich. A large mourning congregation assembled in the Karlsruhe-Central church late Saturday morning, 9 August 2014 in order to bid farewell to District Apostle Klaus Saur.

Stuttgart/Zurich. The Ebola virus is currently raging in a number of West African countries—and hundreds of people are affected. District Apostle Michael Ehrich provides corresponding guidelines for fellowship in church, and calls upon members and ministers to observe preventive measures unconditionally.
