Epiphany, Épiphanie, Fiesta de revelación … This term has made an appearance in our church calendar and is rather unusual for us. However, it is one of the oldest Christian festivals.

Star, stable, shepherds, angels—and a crying baby in the living room. This year, Christmas will not just be explained, but experienced. A Christmas article of a different kind.

“Sing Noel!”  Again? Yes, and how! A medley of new and traditional carols from Europe, America, and Africa. The piece is taken from the second suite of the choral work “Sing Christmas!”

“Yesu Nafyalwa Ilelo.” This is how Christmas sounds in Bemba, one of the seven major languages among Zambia’s seventy. The carol celebrates the birth of Christ and draws listeners into the warmth and cheer of the season.

The Advent calendars on the shelves are colourful and flashy and are filled with all kinds of treats, from chocolates to mini sausages. Originally, the season was about fasting. So how does this all fit together?
