Shortly before the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September, we are going to have a closer look at the meaning of peace. So that the day is more than just an opportunity for reflection, District Apostle Helper Helge Mutschler has written down a few thoughts on how we can all become peacemakers.

“The District Apostle has confidence in you and I have confidence in you,” Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider said to the latest member of the international Church leadership.

After 48 years in ministry and six years as a District Apostle, Jürg Zbinden will retire next Sunday. He enjoyed being there for his brothers and sisters and will continue to be active on the foundation board of the NAK-Humanitas aid organisation.

Everyone is welcome, whether sick or healthy, young or old: the doors of our church are wide open. Shaping the church is something that can be done together. Here are examples from the New Apostolic world.

Music is powerful: making music brings people together, builds bridges between the generations, lets people discover new things, and even raises money for a good cause.

Thirteen official aid organisations have emerged from the New Apostolic Church, which means that there are countless individuals who are helping along to make a better world. Today, on the occasion of World Humanitarian Day, we pay tribute to them.

They live far away from one another and rarely come together. It is not always easy for New Apostolic young people in the USA to find their place in the congregation. The Church leadership has therefore had to think of a way to support them in their spiritual development.

There is always a reason to thank God, and not just that wells can be built in Burkina Faso, for example, or schools in the Philippines. ‌Congregations in South Africa and Argentina also have a lot to be grateful for. They celebrated anniversaries. Here is a colourful bouquet of good news.

The publication with the largest circulation in the New Apostolic Church is tiny in comparison. Printed, it is leaflet size. Several languages also produce a yearbook version. We are talking about the Divine Service Guide. ‌The authors recently met so that the publication can continue to be created.

The Church’s own health insurance, a football league of congregational teams, and a working area that spanned half the globe: today we celebrate the 130th birthday of Heinrich Franz Schlaphoff—an Apostle unlike any other.

They conduct divine services, dispense the sacraments, and sometimes they are allowed to sit back and relax. Three District Apostles and a District Apostle Helper provide insight into their daily work.

Karl Hartmann had to move, and God was already there. This was something He often experienced. Instead of sitting back and enjoying congregational life, he put his shoulder to the wheel and became involved. One hundred years ago today, he became a District Apostle.
