Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider ended the liturgical year 2024 with an urgent appeal: “Come, Lord Jesus!” In the year-end service, He focused on this important prayer. 

The country is known for its diversity. On the third weekend in February, Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider will travel to Colombia for two divine services.

When rituals encounter reforms: the new Liturgy of the New Apostolic Church is now also available in Spanish—following English, French, and German. This may not be a revolution, but it certainly is a very pleasing development.

How much longer? This is the sigh of people experiencing great distress or empathising with the hardship of others. Jesus Christ Himself provides the answer.

The common denominator of the Sunday services in February is the subject of devotion and its various aspects: how God devotes Himself to us, how we devote ourselves to God, and how we treat our fellow human beings.

What does it mean to be a citizen of heaven? The Chief Apostle put the focus on eternal fellowship with God and the return of Jesus Christ. A path that leads to perfection and culminates in ministering to others.

It is so much more than just being kind to one another. Following is what our annual motto “It’s time to do good” means for our coexistence with our fellow human beings.

Have the last days dawned?  Yes, no, maybe … Well, it doesn’t matter. Because there is no point in trying to interpret the signs of the times. What counts is that we move forward. We must look up and get up.

Doing good for your own soul is one thing. But the Chief Apostle has something else that is very important to him: our children and young people. This is a task not just for parents, but for the whole congregation.

Faith comes from preaching, that much is clear. But why do some divine services have a powerful effect while others fail to excite? And what can be done about it? This is where homiletics comes in: the art of preaching. Here is a starting point.
