“Amen” is something we are all familiar with. It means as much as “so be it”. But there is a way to intensify this declaration of affirmation: the threefold amen that concludes divine services in the New Apostolic Church. Where does this come from? What does it mean?

There are many ways of telling people about Jesus Christ, of proclaiming His gospel, and acquainting them with the New Apostolic Church. What is important here as with everything else is that we keep in mind the various countries and their cultures.

Snow at Pentecost? A strange phenomenon for those living north of the Equator. But in the Southern Hemisphere this is nothing unusual at this time of the year. In fact, the world is so big and colourful that what seems normal for us may appear novel and perhaps a little unusual for someone else somewhere else. One church, many cultures … This was only one of the aspects under which the New Apostolic Church—which is active in nearly all countries worldwide—presented itself at the Evangelical Church Convention in Stuttgart, the largest such gathering in Germany. On the agenda were not only spiritual topics, but also humanitarian aid and the promotion of education.

Life is not always full of joy. Sometimes we go through phases of sadness. How we can find new strength is something District Apostle Raúl Eduardo Montes de Oca Daiqui (Brazil and Bolivia) describes in his article on our annual motto.

A man with a clear profile … Not only his imposing appearance, his voice, and his poise contributed to his striking personality, but most of all his heart’s attitude. District Apostle Klaus of Southern Germany would have been 75 years of age today.

Pentecost 2015 was a very encouraging divine service … Have confidence and trust in the power of the Holy Spirit. He is the way that leads to God. This was the key message of Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider. To conclude our Pentecost coverage we will take another look at the divine service.

“Pentecost is a feast of joy celebrating the presence and activity of the Holy Spirit in the church of Christ.” This was the message that Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider conveyed during the central Pentecost service in Lusaka in Zambia. He called on the faithful to, “Trust in the power of the Holy Spirit.”

An Apostle Meeting such as this has never occurred before in the New Apostolic Church. This is not only due to the fact that nearly all the Apostles of Africa have assembled in one place. On this occasion, Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider also set some goals for the development of the Church on this continent.
