At home around the world
Snow at Pentecost? A strange phenomenon for those living north of the Equator. But in the Southern Hemisphere this is nothing unusual at this time of the year. In fact, the world is so big and colourful that what seems normal for us may appear novel and perhaps a little unusual for someone else somewhere else. A look at some of our congregations on three continents proves the point.

Snapshots from Zambia (3)
“It would be great to have Pentecost in Zambia every year!” is what a sister said after the concert in our central church in Lusaka on Saturday. The church offers room for about 3,000 people, but nearly 4,000 were in the church. The audience was thrilled. At the end of the concert there was no stopping the choir and instrumentalists. They just kept on singing and dancing.

Already on Wednesday there was a great deal of bustling excitement in Lusaka. While posters throughout Zambia’s capital and bumper stickers on cars do their share to advertise the Pentecost service with Chief Apostle Schneider, numerous helpers are busy with the final preparations: cleaning the church inside and out, seeing to the floral decorations, and doing welding work on the platform on which Saturday’s concert will take place.
