Music is powerful: making music brings people together, builds bridges between the generations, lets people discover new things, and even raises money for a good cause.

It was certainly easy enough to find friends. Around 1,000 young people from all over America, Australia, and Southern Germany came together at the beginning of August—to learn how to shine and to spread their light together.

While the District Apostles and District Apostle Helpers convened for meetings at the Church’s conference centre, their spouses helped a charity initiative by painting yellow smiley faces on blue T-shirts.

Over a hundred young people attended a youth convention in South America and several thousand came together for youth services in Africa. The young people demonstrated their faith, sometimes publicly, at various events organised to promote the Church and ensure its future

Before the Pentecost service, which was broadcast throughout Europe, some congregations in Switzerland and southern Germany had the opportunity to get to know the leaders of the international Church a little better during the midweek service. Here is a small sample of the many encounters.

God created everything, but we have only this one earth with its marvellous flora and fauna. Over the past few weeks, some brothers and sisters have been working hard to preserve it for future generations and to raise awareness of God’s creative power.

‌He spoke the language of faith. But he also spoke the most widely spoken language in the Philippines. Apostle Virgil Fuentes died ten years ago today. One of his works that live on is the translation of the Catechism into Cebuano.

A lot of people celebrated a lot of memorable anniversaries in recent weeks. Among them, one of our brothers in faith, a choir, a number of congregations, a Regional Church, and even the church as a whole! And all of them celebrated around the same time. We offer our sincere congratulations!

A divine service with over 7,000 participants, a concert with around 2,000 performers, and a Church Convention that takes over an entire city. These major events continue to have an impact, whether on a small or large scale or as a catchy tune.

“Congregation of the Future” is the name of a European project group. One question is so fundamental that it has now been raised by the International District Apostle Meeting.

Music can help us heal: this was the focus of a joint project in a children’s home north of the Arctic Circle. The participants came from Germany, Austria, Great Britain, and Greenland.

Pentecost is approaching. To put us in the mood for the birthday of the church of Christ, here is an inspiring memento from last year’s Pentecost festivities, “Spirit renewed”. This anthem actually suits the occasion every year.

Here are some fresh ideas on our 2024 motto. ‌That prayer works is something that brothers and sisters experience often. They feel the power of prayer in church services, concerts, and in everyday life.

Whether conducting a choir or an orchestra, conductors are all eyes, ears, and hands. From the first bar to the last note, they are in control over the tempo and the dynamics. But they don’t fall from the sky. So how do congregations across the world find their musical leaders.

How are things coming along with our annual motto “Prayer works”? A short poll on Instagram showed up 900 ideas on the topic of “prayer”. In the first part, we will look at the feeling of being close to God in prayer.

Together they were strong. But conflicts and a resulting dispute led to a split: Chief Apostle Hermann Niehaus and Apostle Carl August Brückner, who died 75 years ago today.

Singing, celebrating, and hiking is how the brothers and sisters in Africa and Europe celebrated Easter. They enjoyed one another’s fellowship, but also reflected on what Easter means, namely the victory of the Son of God over death.
