After ten years of intensive work, the Catechism of the New Apostolic Church is now also available in Polish thanks to joint efforts by volunteers and staff from the Church offices.
The Catechism of the New Apostolic Church was first published in 2012 in German, followed by English, French, and Russian. In Poland, work on this project began in 2014 under Bishop Waldemar Starosta, then president of the New Apostolic Church in Poland.
Excerpts in the Church magazine
Some of the first chapters appeared in the Church magazine Nasza Rodzina (Our Family), giving members the opportunity to engage more intensively with their faith. However, the translation process proved to be challenging because of a shortage of staff.
The administrative staff, who carried out the translation work alongside their day-to-day responsibilities, were supported by volunteers from various congregations. This commitment contributed significantly to the translation progress. Following the sudden death of the Bishop in 2019 and pandemic-related challenges, the project had to be temporarily paused.
Presentation of the Polish edition
The work resumed in 2024 thanks to support from the responsible Apostles and the determination of those involved. The result: a complete Polish edition of the Catechism was published for the first time in April 2025. The first edition of one thousand copies is currently the only official publication in Poland dealing with the fundamentals of the New Apostolic Church.
The official presentation of the Polish edition of the Catechism took place on 13 April 2025, immediately after the divine service with District Apostle Rüdiger Krause. The members from the Poland-West district received their copies directly after the service. Since then, the Catechism has gradually been distributed to other New Apostolic congregations in the country.
Events to mark the publication
The members wanted to express their joy over the publication of the Church’s comprehensive summary of its teaching. This gave rise to the idea of a series of events entitled Open Doors of the New Apostolic Church in Poland. During these events, the respective congregation offers anyone interested the opportunity to get to know the New Apostolic faith. At the same time, members can discuss their faith.
In addition to information booths, concerts, and devotions, picnics and discussions with neighbours around the congregations are also planned. The aim is to organise such an event in every Polish congregation. And the newly published Catechism is to serve as a basis and guide for believers in talking about their faith with others.
