Listen to it

A few good ideas, a bit of money, and a hands-on approach—and before long things start rolling: for the individual, for everybody. And sometimes things go a lot quicker and better than hoped for.

Wishes and ideas for the International Youth Convention 2019 (IYC)

scension 2019 is it: New Apostolic young people will be meeting for their International Youth Convention (IYC). The organisers want to consider the expectations and wishes of the youth and need their help for this. Wishes, ideas, and suggestions can be submitted directly to the planning committee. The questionnaire, which takes about six to eight minutes to complete, can be completed in English or German.

Donations for an orphanage in Romania

Three days of rehearsal followed by a performance … A group of 150 young people from the Swiss Church districts spent the Easter weekend together making music. The practice of the project choir “Meet’n Sing” culminated in a charity Easter concert at St Martin, a church in the town of Baar. The audience was very generous and surprised the organisers: 9,000 Swiss francs were collected and donated to the charity organization of the New Apostolic Church Switzerland, NAK-Humanitas, which will use the money to build a children’s home in Zabrani in Romania.

Over a hundred new bone marrow donors

An additional 112 bone marrow donors have been added to the seven million who are already registered in Germany. Members of the Berlin-Lichtenberg congregation in Germany and people from the neighbourhood had themselves registered as potential donors with the German Database of Bone Marrow Donators (DKMS). The event had been organized by members from the congregation who received support from District Apostle Wolfgang Nadolny. Before and after the registration process—in which a person’s personal data is recorded and which involves a swab of cells from the inside of the cheek—there were refreshments and people could inform themselves about becoming an organ donor. Nearly 10,000 euros were collected for the fight against leukaemia. An additional 4,000 euros was contributed by NAK-karitativ, the charity of the New Apostolic Churches in Germany.

Three thousand attend dedication in Zambezi

The Apostle area Zambezi-Kabompo is comprised of 336 congregations. One of them is Zambezi Central. There are over 71,000 New Apostolic Christians in the area. The congregation was established around 1954. The first church was completed in 1997 and dedicated that same year by Chief Apostle Richard Fehr. Because of structural defects—prominent was the sagging roof—the building required extensive reconstruction. At the beginning of April, District Apostle Charles S. Ndandula officiated at the dedication ceremony and cut the ribbon. Some 3,000 members and guests attended the dedication. The District Apostle was accompanied by many Apostles and Bishops. At the end of June 2017 Chief Apostle Jean-Luc Schneider will visit his brothers and sisters in Zambezi.
