The past year brought many new challenges. How did we deal with them? Have they managed to distance us from God? What lies ahead of us? District Apostle Kububa Soko (Zambia) answers these questions in his own way.
I believe that none of us anticipated what we experienced in the year 2020. The year 2020 had its own challenges. COVID-19 in particular changed a lot of things completely, including how we have fellowship with God and with one another.
In spite of many challenges in 2020, our 2021 motto, as described by our Chief Apostle, rekindles hope and a longing for our future with Jesus Christ. In the midst of challenges and difficult circumstances that we may experience in this life, let us remain united as a congregation of the church of Christ. Let us also remain focused on the goal of our faith, the return of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is our future.
Our future in Christ gives us an opportunity for eternal fellowship with Him and to share in the thousand-year kingdom of peace. Let us therefore allow the Apostle ministry to prepare our souls for a great future with our Lord Jesus Christ through word and sacraments.
The return of Christ remains our goal of faith, and our future. His return is not an assumption, but a certainty. Let us therefore believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ and align our lives to it by practising His teaching. Let us also tell others about this great future, by taking the gospel of Jesus to them through word and our deeds. I hope the 2021 motto inspires us to our great future with Christ.
