Listen to it

A meeting of sisters bigger than any ministers’ meeting, our doctrine in theory and practice … The following examples show the role of women in the Church, and right there in the front lines is Africa.

A women’s conference: regional and international

Nearly 2,000 New Apostolic women took part in a regional meeting in Namwalain Zambia’s Southern Province, in July 2016. The event was organized to help raise funds to enable sisters to travel to the International Sisters’ Fellowship in Mzuzu in Malawi, an annual event in the region cared for by District Apostle Charles S. Ndandula. Over 7,000 New Apostolic women from Zambia, Malawi, and Zimbabwe were expected to attend the conference in Malawi. It traditionally takes place once a year and is used as a forum to discuss social, organizational, and spiritual matters. The Apostle district Monze-Mazabuka was expected to send about 300 delegates, and the event in Namwala was organized to raise funds to help cover travel expenses. From the proceeds there was enough left to construct a conference room in the Apostle area and to buy roofing materials for eight churches.

Faith in practice

The congregations of Sandton, Fountainbleau, and Edenvale in South Africa joined together for a series of talks themed “Women in Discussion”. The first meeting took place in May 2016. The idea is for New Apostolic women to be able to discuss their life experiences and make new discoveries in a safe and positive environment. At their first meeting, the ladies talked about self-awareness and professing our faith in everyday life. Further topics are planned such as “Life after losing a child”.

Courses for ministers and teachers

“Victory over evil” is the topic with which the New Apostolic Church North Rhine-Westphalia (Germany) will continue its series of theological seminars. The course is for ministers and teachers. Lecturers are Reinhard Kiefer, the theological adviser of the Chief Apostle, and Carmen Jäger, a graduated theologian. Carmen Jäger did theological studies at Ruhr University in Bochum and now works in the Department of Old Testament Studies and as a tutor for ancient Greek. She has committed herself to pastoral care of young adults in the New Apostolic Church and is a member of the youth panel.
