“Welcome to the e-learning platform of the New Apostolic Church International.” This is how visitors are greeted on nac.academy. And getting started could not be easier: all you need is an email address. With this, we round off our mini-series and take one final look at the platform.

The resources on nac.academy are freely accessible, so anyone with an interested in invited to explore. nac.academy is not just a name, but also a web address. By typing the name into the address bar of your web browser (or clicking on this link), you will be taken to a page displaying the head offices of the New Apostolic Church in Zurich. In the top right corner, the button with the flags, allows you to choose from thirteen languages—with more to come.

Quick and easy – getting started

It is easiest for users who are already registered for another service of the New Apostolic Church that uses SSO, Single Sign-On. To log in click on “SSO” or enter your personal username and password.

Those who have no account yet can access a registration form by clicking on “New Account Registration”. You will be asked to provide a username and password, as well as your first and last name, the country you are from, your email address, and your District Apostle Area. Click on “Register” once you have filled in the details. You will receive a confirmation email. From now on, you can use “Local Login”.

Clear and concise – the subjects

Moving and in need of explanation. Divine services for the departed are a moving experience for many. But why do they exist and how do they work? The module “The doctrine of salvation for the departed”provides insight and imparts fundamental knowledge about the understanding and practice of this New Apostolic specialty.

Between proximity and responsibility. Pastoral care is not the sole responsibility of the ministers. What can it accomplish and what are its limits? What is permitted and what is not? The module provides the answers, explores the importance of spiritual devotion, and offers practical guidance.

All about ministry in sixty minutes. Think you have fully understood our concept of ministry? Find out on nac.academy and put your knowledge to the test. Not only ministers are invited to do so, but anyone who would like to understand how the Church works. The module explains the significance of ministry and what tasks are associated with it.

More than merely yes and amen. Anyone can pray, but a prayer in a divine service is more than a personal conversation with God. How are these prayers different from prayers spoken in private? The module provides the answers. The aim of this training module is to create an understanding of the meaning and function of prayers in divine service.

Preaching that inspires and gives meaning. Repetition always helps, clichés create a comforting sense of familiarity, and the altar symbolises authority—or maybe not? “The Sermon” module challenges familiar assumptions.

The modules can be completed in approximately 30 to 75 minutes. Texts, audio files, videos, and self-assessments facilitate learning. All materials have been reviewed and approved by the Church’s leaders.
