Praying together

Hearing the word of God and the absolution, receiving blessing, and worshipping God together… These are some the key elements of divine service. And all this is possible virtually, even during the pandemic.

“The divine service aims to strengthen the hope for the imminent return of Christ and to prepare the faithful for the return of the Lord.” This is why divine services are so sacred to us.

Many things are different this year and many plans have come to nothing. But there is still the possibility of coming together for a divine service: in some countries members are able to come together in their congregations, in other countries they join in video services. Those who cannot attend a divine service in their congregation because of an increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19 or because of official public assembly bans are invited to join the centrally streamed online services.
