Church members want to understand Church doctrine. The current issue of community features clearly understandable teaching texts for just such members. What is divine service? What is forgiveness of sins? Answers to important questions.

Parents provide for the natural wellbeing of their children, promote their talents, and support them as they grow into adulthood. But parents are also responsible for the spiritual development of their children. “Take a little more time for this,” said Chief Apostle Schneider as he appealed to parents.

All interested parties are invited: the New Apostolic congregations in the German-speaking regions of the world will be open to the public for a service for the departed on Sunday, 6 November 2016. The preparations are already underway.

We have all experienced it—a thought from outside that feels like a letter straight from the evil one bearing the message, “You don’t have a chance.” How are we to react to this? “Just like King Hezekiah,” says the Chief Apostle. Following are some answers from a divine service.

Young people are also a special target group for churches. They are in the blossom of life and are very important for the Church of the future. It is for this reason that special offers and concepts are developed for them. Following are some examples:

Using your body to speak: that is what sign language looks. Hearing impaired people can see what others can hear. In many New Apostolic congregations, divine services are also offered for the hearing impaired.

Being patient with the imperfections of our neighbour, but also with ourselves. Chief Apostle Schneider demonstrates how the Holy Spirit can support us even in very normal situations of daily life.

He is at home in two countries, works for the Church on three continents, and speaks six languages: Bishop Aramik Fesdjian has been accustomed to internationality right from the cradle. In this interview he talks about his life between the worlds.

“Being a Christian in everyday life” is the subject in our divine services in September. There are many sources from which we can gather inspirations on how to be a Christian in everyday life. The age of communication has greatly expanded the possibilities.

Making the impossible possible? Yes, there is a power that can do that. It has something to do with a seed, a mountain, and a tree. Explanations were given in a divine service by the Chief Apostle.

The organ starts to play, the Priest walks to the front, and steps behind the altar. The altar is built on a platform, behind which the cross has been mounted. The altar is the place where God is worshipped, where we remember the sacrifice of Jesus, and where the minister stands to preach. The altar is also referred to as mensa domini, the table of the Lord.

Sunday is there for Christians; but so is Monday. Everybody can sing religious songs, but applying them in everyday life is a different matter entirely. Being a Christian is a twenty-four-seven challenge.

Chief Apostle Schneider did not mince his words when he addressed the ministers and their service to God. A ministry is not a rank. A minister’s task in the congregation is to be vigilant and warn the members of impending danger.

His name is not really all that well known, but he was one of the pioneers of what later came to be known as the New Apostolic Church. Apostle Friedrich Wachmann bought the first church building and published a devotional book. He was born 175 years ago to the day.

Practising the Christian faith in China is difficult. But in Canada Chinese Christians can live their faith publicly and do so full of enthusiasm. Within the New Apostolic Church in the country they constitute a separate ethnic group.

A Church in which people feel at home … and come together. Over the last few days again, New Apostolic Christians around the world spent time together: with special people, at unusual times, and in unusual places.

Divine salvation is invisible. Christians, however, are to make it visible through their prayers and their faith so that people can recognize salvation. Chief Apostle Schneider invited the congregations to take part in this.

The congregation is an assembly of people with similar goals. But a congregation is far more than a body of people who gather regularly for religious worship. It is also a place where people interact on other levels. And to help everyone feel at home, the New Apostolic Church in Canada has initiated a new project.
