Karl Hartmann had to move, and God was already there. This was something He often experienced. Instead of sitting back and enjoying congregational life, he put his shoulder to the wheel and became involved. One hundred years ago today, he became a District Apostle.

He was a man of action and a father figure for his small flock in Europe and his large flock in Africa. This was District Apostle Robert Higelin. On 17 July he would have celebrated his ninetieth birthday. Here is a portrait.

“If we want to preserve what we have, we will have to change many things,” was the guiding principle of Chief Apostle Richard Fehr, who died ten years ago today on 30 June 2013. Many of the innovations today can be traced back to his initiative.

Switzerland will now also receive a District Apostle Helper. He has been designated to succeed District Apostle Jürg Zbinden. This is the fourth such assignment in a short period of time. The designated successor is a Swiss national and already works for the New Apostolic Church Switzerland.

He was a man of words and action. Who this was? District Apostle Karl Kühnle. Today he would have been one hundred years old. Today we pay tribute to a Swabian who set out to bring his faith to Africa, Eastern Europe, and the Arabian Peninsula.
