It was a youth summit with a shining international appeal: under the motto “Shine”, young people from all over North America, Argentina, Australia, and Germany came together in Canada. Following is a video review featuring some of the highlights.

The jury of the creative art competition received a whole gallery of artworks for its annual motto contest. Over two hundred artworks on the theme “Prayer works” were created by children and young people from the Regional Church India. Among the two hundred submissions received, it was not easy to choose a winner.

Walking through the streets to make people aware of our church, playing games, or pestering the Apostle with questions—the activities offered at youth events vary. But there is one thing that is common to all of them: the young people all attend a divine service together.

Poverty is particularly painful in the cold season. Those who can, make themselves comfortable at home. For those who do not have a home, a warm meal and some friendly conversation can be a ray of hope, for example in a church-cum-soup-kitchen.

Many youth events and children’s services over the past few weeks focused on our annual motto. Through play or in workshops, the young generation all over the world is learning that prayer works.

Before the divine service started, there was a spontaneous vocal number. The American, German, and Australian youth who had travelled to the Pan-American Youth Summit in St. Catherines, Ontario in Canada could hardly wait for the service to begin.

Members of various congregations in Africa, Europe, and South America had reason to celebrate in recent weeks. They marked the occasions with music, a play, or a ferry crossing to an island.

Everyone is welcome, whether sick or healthy, young or old: the doors of our church are wide open. Shaping the church is something that can be done together. Here are examples from the New Apostolic world.

Music is powerful: making music brings people together, builds bridges between the generations, lets people discover new things, and even raises money for a good cause.

Choir leaders in Ghana enjoyed a taste of university life. Other Church members went to church to study, and a seniors' group went to a restaurant to learn: congregational life offers many opportunities for ongoing training.

Thirteen official aid organisations have emerged from the New Apostolic Church, which means that there are countless individuals who are helping along to make a better world. Today, on the occasion of World Humanitarian Day, we pay tribute to them.
