Via YouTube, satellite, telephone, TV, and IPTV … The Church broadcasts live on all channels. Over the past year, the Church has expanded its online services considerably. And this brings believers together and comforts and inspires them every week.

Divine service broadcasts have been common practice in the New Apostolic Church for decades. Initially, these took place within one and the same country, and later they were also transmitted across continents and time zones. Church holy days such as Pentecost were a favoured occasion for transmissions. Later, the various districts started transmitting divine services several times a year within their district.

A long-standing tradition, extensive know-how

All this is made possible by the many volunteers in the congregations and the communications experts in the various Church offices and the Church-owned Bischoff Publishers. They not only set up microphones and cameras, but also mix audio and video signals for just the right balance and are busy when others are enjoying their Sundays off. They also co-ordinate the worldwide webstreams and make sure that the members are aware of the wide variety of online services being offered. They regularly receive a lot of praise on social networks: “Thanks to the team, you are fantastic,” Sigrid wrote after the video broadcast.

Since March 2020, the New Apostolic Church has been broadcasting services almost continuously in most countries. At the start of the lockdown, the Church began to expand its digital services. Since then, divine services have been broadcast every Sunday and in some districts even on weekday evenings. This is how the Church makes sure that all members can join a divine service: either in their local church, where this is possible in a Covid-secure way, or at home for those where assembly bans are in place or for people who cannot go to church for health reasons.

On all continents, people stay in virtual contact even after the divine services and interact on the social networks and express their enthusiasm: “I’m infinitely grateful for this offer,” Martina from Germany writes, and Isabel from Argentina adds: “Thank you for not forgetting our souls!”

Concerts and remote lessons

Increasingly, the nationwide central online services are being complemented by broadcasts from the local congregations. More and more believers are now joining the services that are taking place in their own congregation; they can see their church and their Priest.

For months now there have been virtual choir practices, concerts, meetings, and of course Sunday School and other remote lessons. All benefit from this equally, young and old. Manfred writes: “We have been using this offer continuously since March 2020.” And Larry from South Africa confirms: “I have not missed a single service, even when I couldn’t go to church during the pandemic.”

This coming Sunday, the New Apostolic Church will once again broadcast numerous services in many languages. nac.today publishes the links to the central online services every week. Gilbert from South Africa writes: “I always look forward to the virtual services.”
