Experiencing the Holy Spirit

Pentecost, the birthday of the church. A feast that many believing people look forward to celebrating. The New Apostolic Church invites you to do so, both in our congregations and online.

While the resurrection of Jesus took place without spectators—no one witnessed it first hand and only a few hundred people actually even saw the Risen One—the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost was an event which drew a lot of spectators and publicity. As the Jews were celebrating in Jerusalem, the city was full of people. A great many people therefore witnessed this event in which the Apostles were filled with the Holy Spirit. Three thousand people were baptised on that day alone, with many more to follow later.

To this day, Pentecost is one of the most important feasts of the Church. Thanks to the Holy Spirit, we can experience the presence of God in the Church.

Pentecost is also a mission, however. Believers are to help along in building the temple of God, and everyone is to use his or her abilities and skills so that the Church continues to grow. This can also be done from home: praying always helps. As every week, here are the links to our continued live streams of divine services.
